Celebrating Rabindranath and Kazi Nazrul Islam
The Tagoreans present a Music-Dance-Poetry Mosaic includes a medley of songs, dances, recitations and readings by members of The Tagoreans to highlight Rabindranath Tagore's portrayal of women through his musical compositions and literary works. It will also focus on works of poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, who was also an advocate of the emancipation of women. The theme to celebrate their birth anniversaries is to correlate with the 100th year of the International Women's Day.
The programme will be held at Nehru Centre, 8 South Audley Street, London, on Saturday May 22, 2010 at 6:30 PM. Speakers include Professor Tapan Roychaudhury, Emeritus Fellow, Oxford University and Sujit Bhattacharjee, Chairperson, The Tagoreans. |

| The Tagoreans visisted India in the January 2010 with their much acclaimed Tagore's musical opera - Valmiki Pratibha - which were performed at Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata to a packed house and rave reviews. |

| The legendary Rabindrasangeet teacher and singer Mrs Maya Sen was felicitated by The Tagoreans on the occasion of her 80th birthday on 3rd January at the J D Birla Sabhaghar auditorium through a launch of her CD- Anandadhara. |

| Bisarjan - successfully staged |

| The Tagoreans enacted Tagore's play Bisarjan (The Sacrifice) at the Intimate Theatre on June 3, 2007. The sell out crowd watched the cast bring out Tagore's message in rebuking the fundamental religious orthodoxy, in the name of religion and God. |
