Valmiki Pratibha staged in India - January 2010
Staging of Bisarjan
The Tagoreans first performed Valmiki Pratibha in 2005 at th eSteiner Theatre in central London and added yet another feather to the Tagoreans' cap in that this was the first time Valmiki Pratibha was staged outside India- in the west. Valmiki Pratibha is one of the most challenging of Tagore's dance dramas and the Tagoreans production was not only colourful, it was authentic and the painted backdrop was brought over from Kolkata and umpteen props gave the show the power and conviction it needed. There were two more successful performances of this musical opera by The Tagoreans as part of the Hillingdon Art's Festival in June 2008 and the Season of Bangla Drama in the eastend of London in the same year.

Riding high on their success in the West, The Tagoreans decided to tour India in 2010 performing around the country. Tagoreans performed to rave reviews are as on January 31, 2010 at the India International Centre Auditorium, Lodi Estate, New Delhi followed by another performance at the Manik Sabhagriha, Indian Education Society, Bandra Reclamation, Mumbai on February 6, 2010. The final performance was befittingly at Kolkata on February 8, 2010 at the Rabindranath Tagore Centre, Satyajit Ray Auditorium, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

The show was a resounding success.
